In 1992 Mr Blobby hit our screens, quickly gaining fame on BBC One's Noel's House Party, pranking celebrities with Golden Gotchas. 

He became a national hit as he topped the charts and beat Take That to the Christmas No. 1 spot in 1993, securing his strange place in British history.
